Ebay Sales Continue

February 25, 2001

I continue to sell my debut CD "Playing in the Park" on ebay.  I'm selling one a week and the feedback I have received from the buyers has been great.  Thanks to Leona Jacobs for the following review:

I got your CD a couple of days ago.  WOW!  I really liked it.  I've listened to it about three times already.  I liked all the tracks.  I even tried to imagine how they would sound with an orchestra - stupendous!  I think you are a very talented man and I hope you make more CD's like this.  I would buy them.  My favorite cut is Out of the Rain.  I especially liked the rain & thunder effects because I love nature sounds with music.  My second favorite is Midnight (Central Park) ... Thanks for letting me take a walk in your park.

"The Source" Continues Its Climb

October 4, 2000

As of today, The Source continues its climb up the GarageBand.com charts.  It's now ranked #730 out of over 20,000 songs currently being rated.  Three recent reviewers said: (1) "excellent production beautiful music almost trance like good job", (2) "... I'd say its perfect but I wouldn't want to jinx it.. great mixing of the different beats.. I could definitely hear this in a club" and (3) "I could listen to this all day."  Of course, not all comments are quite so complimentary.  Here's the opposing view: "I've heard more entertaining sounds coming from the monkey cage at the zoo."

Listen.com Listens But Is Not Impressed

I submitted a few of my songs to Listen.com for inclusion on their web site.  Unlike most of the other independent music web sites, listen.com actually has a critic listen to submitted songs and posts a review of the work.  Well, let's just say their critic was not impressed (but he was funny).  His full review appears below.

"An aging tax advisor once featured in Money Magazine locks himself in a room with a Roland and creates instrumental mood pieces. These songs pulse with the life and excitement of tax-form preparation and take twice as long to get through." - Mike M.

Bongorno Enters MIDI Contest

I have now entered a contest for midi compositions 4 times since April 1999 and I'm happy to report I haven't finish last yet (although I have come close).  My initial entry was "Follow Me" in the Midiots monthly contest and it placed in a tie for 25th (out of 33 entries).  Still, one judge called it "an enjoyable tune" while the other judge said "the tune is quite good".  Not a bad start (I guess).

My latest entry was "On the Pond".  This one finished in a tie for 12th out of 28 entries.  This time the judge called it "A nice piano piece."  Click the logo below to go to the contest site.
